Bibliographic notes

Lewis Carroll originally wrote the story for his friend's children (one of whom was named Alice), and it was first published in 1865, with illustrations by John Tenniel. It has remained in print ever since. This page lists online editions, translations, and simplified adaptations for younger audiences, of the work as Carroll published it.
