The Merry Wives of Windsor is a comedy by William Shakespeare featuring Sir John Falstaff, a popular character from his plays about Henry IV.

Bibliographic notes

The Merry Wives of Windsor was first published in quarto in 1602. A much longer version was published in the First Folio of 1623, published seven years after Shakespeare's death. Later editions may include material from both versions.
