The Taming of the Shrew is a comedy by William Shakespeare about marriage and gender relations.
Bibliographic notes
This play was first published in the First Folio of 1623, seven years after Shakespeare's death. Most later editions are based on that text, but modernize spellings and punctuation to at least some extent. Some quarto editions were published a few years after the First Folio version. Recent editions often also expand abbreviations or add implied stage directions.
