A Memory of Solferino is an account by Henry Dunant of the aftermath of the Battle of Solferino in 1859. His plea for the relief of wounded soldiers led to the establishment of the Red Cross and the first Geneva Convention. Bibliographic notesA Memory of Solferino was first published in French in 1862, under the title Un Souvenir de Solferino. It has since been translated into English and many other languages.
