Symposium

Symposium is a Socratic dialogue on "Eros". Written by Plato, it features a banquet and drinking party in which Socrates and his associates discuss philosophies of love, sex, friendship, and desire.

Bibliographic notes

Symposium was composed in ancient Greek in the 4th century BC. The earliest published English translations we know of date from the 18th century.

We know of attempts to ban this work.
