R. U. R. (subtitled "Rossum's Universal Robots") is a play by Karel Čapek about a revolt of manufactured workers against the humans they were designed to serve. Bibliographic notesR. U. R. was written in Czech, and was originally published in 1920, with a revised version published in 1921, the year it was first performed. English language adaptations were produced and published a few years later, and the play has since been translated and adapted in many other languages as well. See also |
