Dear Mr or Ms Hatuna Chigogidze,
As a member of the Book People Mailing List, I received a copy of your e-mail
to Mary Mark Ockerbloom, asking for books for the Georgian State Library. I
would be happy to post a notice on my web site www.frigatezine.com, in
order to
appeal to readers of our magazine Frigate: The Transverse Review of Books.
Beneath the horizontal line below you will find a draft of the notice as it
might appear on our site. Please correct any errors or suggest any changes
you
would like me to make. When we have a satisfactory text, I will post it
immediately.
Best wishes,
Patricia Eakins

Library in Former Soviet Union Needs Books
31 Jan 2001. Tbilisi, Georgia. Hatuna Chigogidze, Assistant Director of the
Media Democratization and Development Association in Tbilisi, Georgia, in the
former Soviet Union, sent a plea to the Book People mailing list for books for
the Georgian State Library. The library is strapped and needs books and
magazines in English, Japanese, and Arabic. "People would read and re-read
them here many times," we are assured by Hatuna Chigogidze, so any gift you
make would go a long way. If you would like to help out, please e-mail Hatuna
Chigogidze <hatuna_chigogidze@[redacted]> The address of the Media
Democratization
and Development Association is: St. Aleksidze 3, Tbilisi, 380093, Georgia.
