ALA National Library Legislative Day

Dear Librarians,

On April 27th the Hawaii Library Association will be sending a
representative to travel to Washington D.C to attend the ALA National
Library Legislative Day Conference. I have been asked that we not only
represent the librarians of Hawaii but also those who work in the virtual
library field. Because of Hawaii's unique geographical location and the
diverse multicultural needs of its residents, issues we face here in Hawaii
may be different from the issues continental librarians and their patrons
face. Similarly, issues that concern the on-line communities may differ as
well. Please provide us with any issues that you feel need to be addressed
at the Federal level, and take this opportunity to help us bring your
concerns to our nation's capital, where we can effect legislative changes to
improve library services.

Sincerely,

John
