New free texts available...Chaucer and Zorrilla

I have placed a modernised version of Chaucer's 'Troilus and Criseyde'
on the Dante and Others web site at:

www.tonykline.free-online.co.uk

It is downloadable free in eBook, WORD and HTML formats. Archaic words
have been replaced with modern equivalents but leaving much of Chaucer's
rhyming scheme and language intact. The aim, hopefully achieved, is to
make it readable without special knowledge, or reference to marginal
notes, but still give Chaucer's unique flavour. This, his formal
masterpiece (pace lovers of The Canterbury Tales), is one of the great
Classic love stories.

I have also collaborated with Nancy Mayberry on a new (first?) verse
translation of Jose Zorrilla's nineteenth century play 'Don Juan Tenorio'.
Often used as a Spanish language and literature teaching text, this
retelling of the Don Juan story is popular in Spanish speaking countries,
and is an amusing and unusual part of the last wave of Spanish Romanticism.
You can download it in WORD or HTML format or browse it at:

www.tonykline.btinternet.co.uk Zorrilla: Don Juan

The play is presented as parallel facing Spanish and English text, a
layout we don't see much of on the web (I note previous Bookpeople
messages re: the lack of facing page texts...it's a first for me, but
has resulted in large slow web pages, though there is no issue for
downloaded files!!)

Regards to all
