raise more questions about online works

 In recent weeks, federal courts have written
 the book on authors' rights to online postings
 of their works.

 But copyright attorneys say the manuscript
 isn't quite complete. A few key questions
 remain unanswered. Among them: How much
 compensation free-lance writers can claim for
 past postings of their works and whether
 contracts signed in the pre-Internet era can
 ever cover digitized material.
