[Moderator: I have a guide to putting books on-line at

might find of use. Suggestions (either for changes on this page,
or for other information pages) welcome. - JMO] <<

From 'The OnLine Books Page'
"Find a suitable text, and tell us about it
... we're looking for complete, English-language books in any subject. You
can choose a book from this list of requests, or choose another book that you
would like to transcribe."
========
I also consider myself a 'newcomer' to this listserv although I do have my
title _A Grandpa's Notebook_ in the Gutenberg Archive. I am deeply grateful
to Dr. Hart for his patience and assistance in moving that project along.
I have completed a 'what if' science fiction novel that projects an already
recognized dilemma iof this era into the distant future. Stated briefly, the
story is about the eventual near exhaustion of nonrenewable natural resources
throughout a densely populated solar system. From the Foreword: "Postponing
the [resources] crisis depends on how well we manage our shrinking reserves
of nonrenewable strategic resources. Even so, no matter how effectively we
conserve that which Earth holds and releases in our behalf, we ultimately
face the consequences of their depletion."
The novel's title is _The Interstellar Slingshot_ and the text about 80,000
words in length. I am the author and copyright owner, and would like very
much to have the story included in the IPL as a freely downloadable text.
The work is complete as far as I can prepare it for posting without further
guidance on format. As with my previously posted 'Grandpa's Notebook' the
language in this story is suitable for all ages.
I am 84 years old and carry the baggage that goes with it, so it isn't that
I'm impatient - just trying to be practical.
Anyone interested?
Thanks,
