My apologies for accidentally snipping the URL of the
"Copyright Craziness" article (or, more precisely, for
accidentally burying it in the email header). The full article is at
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A22911-2001Aug16.html
The main plaintiff in the case is listmember Eric Eldred. Readers
may remember that Eric has also recently posted that his ISP has
cut off access to port 80, and that he has since then moved
his server to
http://www.eldritchpress.org:8080/
I've gone ahead and changed my links to his titles, but he mentioned
to me in email that these may disappear as well. He says:
"As I stated earlier, I will most likely NOT move the site to another
ISP. Some of the books of course have already been hosted elsewhere.
I'd like all the books to be hosted by somebody else on other servers.
so I'll leave up the 8080 links while I try to find others who will
copy them and take over the books. I give full permission to use
them in any way the new owners wish. Or I can mail a CD-R or RW
of the entire site. After a decent interval Eldritch Press will go
away from the WWW--so please take what you want preserved now.
Then it will be up to you and IPL to change your links once again.
Thanks!"
I would therefore encourage folks to get in touch with Eric to get
copies of books you're interested in. He's made a very useful site,
and I hope that his work stays preserved on the Net!
