I think as the Net goes through generations of content decay local storage
will become the norm for anything you want to preserve for yourself, much
like taping of TV has become a universal practice. If you want to watch
Witchblade again five years from now, tape it now. It's not going into
permanent reruns like Lucy. The same applies to the Web. Think of sites as
syndicated shows on a billion-channel set. For whatever reason, their run
will come to an end and you'll never see them again.
