  They probably (though not certainly) have the typesetting tapes stored,
and will 'only' have to translate them to whatever internal format the
e-books require.

  That won't do, though: the books will have to be in a format suitable
for reading on an e-book device, and that will almost certainly require
resetting the text to new specifications -- size as well as typeface.

  And add to that that this will probably not be a very 'safe'
commercial venture: no need to push out 200 books without any strong
signals that it works. The first titles will be selected so that they
can be used to predict remaining sales -- the bulk of the titles will
come fairly late.

  And add to *that* the problems that RC4 encryption key management
is beginning to show ... there are certainly dangers ahead for anyone
trying to go commercial.
