Archive alert: constitution.org

I recently received email from Jon Roland, webmaster of constitution.org,
a privately run political site with a sizable online text archive.
It stated that the site needed to raise money quickly to avoid
shutting down, possibly as early as next week. I currently list
a little over 30 online books at that site, most of which I've
only found at that site. There are a number of shorter texts
there as well.

Those of you who are familiar with the site (which has both archival
and activist aspects) and want to donate to help it out can find
instructions at

     http://www.constitution.org/whatucando.htm

Those of you who are interested in the public domain
texts on the site may want to save mirror copies in case the site
does go away. Last I checked, although the editing on some of the
texts (like the US Constitution) can be idiosyncratic, the actual
text transcriptions appear to be accurate and well-formatted
to the extent that I've checked them out.
