Macs have had built in text to speech for some time. Use the Speech control panel to chose your varorite. Word does not seem to support speech but Simpletext (included on all Macs) and Nisus Writer also do support speech. Gilles Poitras gilles@[redacted] Learning Studio, Exploratorium Museum
