Hello All--
I will be giving The LeftBank Review/Echo Magazine (
www.leftbankreview.com ) a total makeover beginning in 2002. To refresh
your memories, the LBR is a literary journal which focuses on Modernist
literature from 1900-1939. It's sister publication, EM, is dedicated to the
discovery of new artists, poets, writers, musicians, etc. Because my time
is so limited, particularly while I move my attention toward redesigning the
site, I will not be able to do all the research and writing, (as well as
all of the web work) necessary to collect enough material to constitute a
full issue of the LBR in a timely manner. In order to solve this, I am
looking for an instructor, or social catalyst with an open mind. If any of
you are teaching classes in writing, journalism, or literature-- or know of
someone who is-- perhaps it will be possible to assign the class (or group
of persons) the divided tasks of producing an edition of the LBR, adhering
to a particular theme in Modernism. Consider this a synthesis project, one
that will integrate many disciplines-- with one practical goal-- that being
the publication itself. Realistically, the first publication under the new
format will not be able to go online until June 2002, however, once the new
database/format is actived for the site, future publications will be
launched in shorter intervals.
As always, I am open to your suggestions, submissions, complaints and hopes.
Warm regards,
Paula DiTallo publisher/editor
