I have scanned the 1920 two volume edition of H.G.Wells Outline of History.
I have also scanned the earlier one volume abridged edition as well. While
the 1920 edition is in the public domain there are four later editions which
contain additional material. The last update was done by Wells' daughter
after his death. I believe that brought everything up to the Korean War.
So the last edition should still be under copyright and is still in print
I believe. I bought a one volume abridged paperback when I was in High
School about 35 years ago. I have been told that the illustrations were
both added and modified in the later editions.
