Stunned that I'd ask it?
Considering Daniel P.B. Smith's reply on another group, plus the
occasional "stunning" feedback I've had from a few others the last few
months, I believe it is a good idea to revisit the topic and discuss
it at length to hone the arguments.

For what particular important uses does proofed/formatted digital text
clearly outshine pagescans+rawOCR+boundingboxinfo, at least to the
point that even the most avowed "page scans are good enough" people
will not be able to argue against?
