i think everyone here is well aware of
the limitations of page-scans, michael.

the inability to search -- and the need to
retype quotes -- also applies to p-books,
and people have lived with that for centuries.

and during time, p-books have proven to be
tremendously useful over the last 500 years,
even with limitations, because they could be read.

likewise, the scan-set of a book can also be read,
so i think it will prove to be just as useful, thanks...

and, as i stated, anyone who _does_ want the text
in digital form is welcome to digitize it themselves.

so i don't complain because the lemon tree doesn't
make the lemonade for me -- i have my own juicer...

if i thought it was more important, i would work on it
harder, and could promise it'd be done in _three_ years.
as it is, i'm counting on the abbyy people to do it for me.
