Scholarship on the fly - Eichamnn knows best

Dear John,

Relating to your recent foray into history (a superb example of "everyone
has equal access to knowledge" even if he or she are utterly unqualified),
allow me to correct some of the "facts" you posted. I know that you are a
moderator with integrity, so I am sure you will allow me to respond to your
rebuff.

I will concentrate only on one point: Eichmann's full name.

You say:

"The Eichmann example is actually rather telling for the tenet I give above
... Following the cite (in the Wikipedia history of the article - SV), which
leads to a painstakingly compiled transcription of the Eichmann trial
documents from the widely-respected Nizkor website, I see that indeed some
of the reports say that by his own testimony he was "Otto Adolf Eichmann".
(The Eichmann trial judgments themselves don't get this specific, simply
referring to "Adolf Eichmann"; the Library of Congress Authorities likewise
have his name as simply "Eichmann, Adolf, 1906-1962".)"

Sam:

You chose to rely on the Wikipedia history pages INSTEAD of actually
perusing Nizkor! A perfect example of the pernicious effects this
encyclopedia has on learning!

Nizkor is unequivocal - the name is KARL Adolf Eichmann:

Eichamnn's NSDAP membership card and his SS member's card both state his
full name as Eichammn, Karl Adolf. So does his marriage licence to Veronika.

Surely Eichmann should know better than the mass of "editors" in the
"encyclopedia" that you, a scholar and academic, incredibly chose to rely on
in your response to me?

Sam
