Britain's Royal Society opens up journal archive

The Royal Society, Great Britain's oldest scientific society, has announced
it has opened the complete archive of its journals (back to 1665) for free
access for 2 months starting September 14.

You can read more about it at

    http://www.royalsoc.ac.uk/news.asp?id=5165

Access will go subscription-based after the two-month free period.

So, if you'd like a free look at a lot of the record of scientific progress,
or grab public domain portions of this archive for later use, now's your chance.
(Some of this material is already available freely through other channels,
but a lot isn't. Oxford, for instance, has the first 20 years or so of
_Philosophical Transactions_ but stops at 1777. Please let me know if there
are other permanently public runs of these journals I should be pointing to.)
