Putnam's Magazine was a monthly magazine of American literature, science, art, and national affairs, published by G. P. Putnam's Sons. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.)

Publication History

Putnam's Magazine first appeared in 1853 as Putnam's Monthly, and ran to 1857 in its first incarnation. A second incarnation, titled Putnam's Magazine, ran from 1868-1870. A third incarnation (a continuation of the "Critic" known initially as "Putnam's Monthly and the Critic") ran from 1906-1910. It absorbed "The Reader" in 1908.
