Alexander William Kinglake (August 5, 1809 – January 2, 1891) was an English travel writer and historian., Painting by Harriet M. Haviland (floruit 1863-1865). See source website for additional information.
This set of images was gathered by User:Dcoetzee from the National Portrait Gallery, London website using a special tool. All images in this batch have a known author, but have manually examined for strong evidence that the author was dead before 1939, such as approximate death dates, birth dates, floruit dates, and publication dates.

Alexander William Kinglake (5 August 1809 – 2 January 1891) was an English orientalist travel writer and historian. He was the author of a multi-volume history entitled The Invasion of Crimea: Its Origin, and an Account of its Progress down to the Death of Lord Raglan, published from 1863 to 1887.
