Publication History

The American Boy began in 1889. It acquired Youth's Companion magazine in 1929, and took on its volume numbering. For a while thereafter the merged publication was known as American Boy - Youth's Companion. No issue copyright renewals were found for this serial. The first copyright-renewed contribution is from February 1923, © January 25, 1923. (More details) It ran until 1941.
